Over the past two years, the Board of Directors has reviewed PSPE’s governance structure and constitution and bylaws. The primary goal was to reduce the time within presidential succession by removing the expectation that vice presidents move up to president-elect. An initial step was the review of the governance structure of four other state societies. From this review, a preferred revised governance structure was developed and discussed with the Board.
Following a stepped process, with multiple virtual meetings specific to this process, the Board has adopted at two meetings, as required by our current Constitution, the motion: “To amend by substitution the PSPE Constitution and Bylaws with Proposed PSPE Bylaws Based on NSPE State Model Bylaws Dated Sept. 5, 2024”.
Between the two votes by the Board, the PSPE membership was invited to a presentation on December 9, 2024, for information on the process and the proposed governance structure.
This motion is now presented to the PSPE membership for adoption. PSPE voting members will receive an email with instructions on the voting process. The following links provide the December 9, 2024 presentation and the proposed bylaws
