The Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE) is affiliated with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).

Membership Fee Structure

PSPE is a State Chapter of NSPE, which means as a member of NSPE you are automatically a member of PSPE. You must be a member of NSPE be a member of PSPE. Your yearly membership dues, paid to NSPE, includes membership at 3 levels:

  • National (NSPE)
  • State (PSPE)
  • Local (PSPE Chapter)

 


Who is Eligible for Membership?

Engineer Professional | ($299) You may become a member if you have a valid license as a Professional Engineer in the U.S. or Canada, an Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification issued under the laws of any state, territory, possession, or district of the U.S., or its international equivalent.  NSPE also offers a Graduated Dues Program for recent college graduates. Students | (FREE) You may become a student member if you are enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited engineering program or an engineering or pre-engineering program that has an articulated or transfer agreement with ABET or an accredited program; or a student enrolled full-time in a graduate level engineering program. Your NSPE student membership entitles you to deep discounts on a wide variety of publications including FE/PE Exam Prep Courses. Learn more about Student membership Legal Entities | ($400) You may become a PSPE Sustaining Associate if your company demonstrates steadfast alignment with PSPE’s mission to foster licensed professional engineers in service to society. Dues paid for PSPE membership are not deductible as a charitable expense on your Federal Income Tax Return.  They are deductible as a trade or business expense if ordinary and necessary in the conduct of your business as the portion of the dues attributed to activities defined by the Internal Revenue Service as “lobbying expense” is not deductible.

PSPE has determined that 6% of your due’s payment is not deductible for income tax purposes.
