SUMMARY:PSPE Roundtable | Today’s Challenge for PE’s - Navigating Resilient and Sustainable Design
DESCRIPTION:Date | Monday\, March 6\, 2023 \nTime | 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM \nFee| Member – Free /  Non-Member – $30 \n\nInfrastructure design is evolving in response to new net-zero laws and policies focused on resilience and sustainability. Increased climate variability and surging population growth are placing greater demands on limited resources such as water\, energy\, and physical space. \nFraming the conversation: What is sustainability? What is resilience? What is total cost?  What is a circular economy?  Have we considered the consequences? \nAttendees are encouraged to share both painful lessons learned and wins\, with colleagues who understand the challenge to find sustainable and resilient solutions to client needs. \n\nGround rules \n\nBring an open-mind\, judgment free mentality\nSet yourself up for successful interaction with a stable wi-fi connection and webcam (recommended).\nMake cases/examples anonymous to protect all parties\nRemember that discussion is a journey\, not necessarily a destination\n\n\nPanelists  \n\nRebecca A. Bowman\, Esq.\, PE | Senior Director\, Ethics and Professional Practice | National Society of Professional Engineers\nLisa A. Peterson\, PhD\, P.E. | President | Aftan Engineering\, LLC\nMarleen A. Troy\, Ph.D.\, P.E.\, BCEE | Professor of Environmental Engineering | Wilkes University\n\n  \n\nRegister today! \nPDH Statement \nPSPE will send a certificate of attendance (1 PDH) to individuals who interact with the conversation two times during the course of the session.

SUMMARY:Bucks County Chapter PDH Event
DESCRIPTION:Bucks County Chapter | On Top of Roofing – Understanding What’s Over Your Head \nA typical roof can be riddled with tricky transitions\, especially when joining steep and low slope roofs. Transitions not only need to consider the integration of different materials\, but also the continuity of the control layers—water\, air\, thermal\, and vapor. There are a few transition areas that can be overlooked or improperly detailed in the design process and are sometimes left for the contractor to “figure out.” Some of these overlooked and underappreciated details include steep-slope to low-slope integration\, rising walls\, clerestories\, parapets\, drainage\, and ventilation. \nPresenter | Jennifer Keegan\, AAIA –Director\, Building Science\, GAF \nDate | Wednesday\, March 15\, 2023 \nPDH | 1 \n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n5:30 – 6:30 PM | Social Hour\n6:30 – 8:30 PM | Session Presentation and Dinner\n\nClick here to learn more and register. \n  \n
